As you literally if not randomly walk down Wall Street these days, the most striking sight is the incredible obliviousness of the tourists.  Sitting atop their double decker buses listening to some historical anecdote about the Trinity Church, they’re probably even unaware of how their currency is collapsing with every turn the bus makes.

With gloves off and heels on, Gov. Palin stumps in Republican strongholds with wicked glee living up to the “Barracuda” moniker.  She evokes Sen. Obama’s pallin’ around with former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers as the faithful shout:  “treason,” “traitor,” and even “kill them!”

NRA is hunting for fools

The National Rifle Association finally went so far over the top that even the most ignorant member of that organization must be shaking the gunpowder out of his or her hair while experiencing what it is like to have one’s intelligence insulted to the max.

Florida recently swung from a state that was leaning McCain to a state that is leaning Obama.  The New York Times reported yesterday that “in the last year, unemployment has risen more [in Florida] than in any other state except Rhode Island.”

The following excerpts from a conversation with an Obama organizer in Florida provide a perspective on how the economy has had an impact on political support in this critical swing state.

The Keating 5 had been the elephant in the room, no more.  A 13-minute documentary on McCain’s involvement in the scandal will be released on Monday at noon, in the Obama campaign’s most aggressive offensive move to date.  This effort is notable because it has been undertaken not by a 527, but defying conventional wisdom, directly by the campaign. The release will be compared to the Swift Boat campaign.

Last night I worked past midnight, writing a brief, leaving my wife to care for our young children solo.  Tonight, the night of the vice-presidential debate, it was time to take my turn watching the kids.  My wife was kind enough to allow me to listen online until dinner, then put the debate on the radio.  While our kids ate dinner, spilled milk, and laughed, my wife and I traded comments about the debate.
